Acedimic Integrity

Academic Integrity

Academic integrity is a very important factor for Clemson students.  It is something that is stressed in all the faculty and staff on Clemson’s campus, and is a vital part to how the students do their work.  Academic integrity is a student doing their own work.  They do not cheat on their tests, or plagiarize while writing papers.  They stay true to their own work, and don’t take away from others.  It is very important to everyone in Clemson because it makes Clemson a better campus.  It shows how intelligent and hard working our students are.  We stay true to academic integrity not only for the university’s sake, but for our sake as well.  We learn more when we stay true to the academic integrity pledge.  It prepares us for later on in the life when we are out working on our own.

I will be working my hardest to stay true to academic integrity.  I will be doing my work on my own, I will never cheat on a test, and I will never plagiarize while writing a paper.  I know that if I do plagiarize on a paper, that I will get in serious trouble, and if I cheat on a test and get caught, I will not pass my class.  I have the risk of getting kicked out of a class or just straight failing out of a class.  I will not use my friends’ work to do my work.  It will be a huge help for me later on in life to do my own work.  Yes, it will be challenging, but it will help me learn how to do things on my own.  It will help my expand my mind and help me get smarter and wiser.  Academic integrity is a very big part in my college life.

My Rhetoric Paper

My Rhetoric Paper

This visual rhetoric paper has been a very interesting paper to write about.  I enjoyed searching for an interesting advertisement to write about and learning new things about how an article really says more than how it presents itself.  I have learned how to analyze every single part of an article and talk about the all the emotions that are expressed, whether if it is shown physically or it has to be thought about.  I have learned the difference between ethos, logos, and pathos.  I have also learned that the supposed “Kodiak snapshot” will most of the time be set up so that it can be “the perfect moment.”  This way it can relate to our emotions better.

The difficulty of this paper was definitely finding the right words to analyze the article.  It was difficult for me to really know the full emotions from first glance.  I understood how to analyze every aspect of my article, but having to explain what every part was pretty difficult for me. It was also difficult for me to categorize the emotions as whether they were ethos, logos, or pathos.  However, towards the end of the paper, I understood better and was able to write better.

The ways that I can improve my next paper is to not procrastinate as much.  On my next paper, I need to start on it whenever it is assigned, not whenever I absolutely have to do it.  With not procrastinating, it will also help me improve my grammar and my sentence structures.  I will be able to explain my thoughts better and not feel rushed.  I will have more time to get more feedback from others and I will be able to have a better paper.  This paper has been very interesting paper to research and write about.
